Fusion Construction series, 2023

My goal from early this year was to create paintings with spatial push/pull, spatial contradictions, struggle/conflict, and an outwardly directed energy, all the while remaining abstract and gestural. A literal place, person, or thing is not identifiable, but suffering and joy are present nonetheless. An experience of a near-primal state close to the initial emergence of energy and form.
